The Midwest offers great variety for ski and snowboard enthusiasts - all within a short bus ride of Chicago.

Our Midwestern trips are all designed to maximize the fun for skiers and snowboarders of all ability levels, both on and off the slopes. If you're new to winter sports, you can benefit from a free lesson offered by our PSIA certified ski instructors, if one is on the trip. If you enjoy some friendly competition, come and participate in our NASTAR club race, which is also included in the price of each trip (all ability levels welcome). On the bus, and throughout the trip, you'll find plenty of opportunities to meet new friends and enjoy the bus trip snacks and refreshments.

Sign up by mail or at a Club meeting. But don't delay - these trips are bound to sell out fast!

Midwest Downhill News

An exciting season is ahead for Midwestern skiers- racers and free skiing enthusiasts, from beginners to experts.

We plan a return to charming Chestnut Mountain resort in Galena, IL on the banks of the mighty Mississippi River. We'll go later in the season to catch warmer weather and better skiing. Jim Vahey has generously offered to lead our 2010 trip.

Other considerations include Marquette, Devil's Head and Crystal Mountain near Traverse City, MI for New Years, a combined trip with our Cross Country skiers.

Carol Utsunomiya has volunteered to lead our Midwest Sno & Go day trips where members drive to a location and spend the day or weekend skiing and socializing with LSSC friends.

Watch the Lifeline and website for great upcoming trips!
