Tails & Trails – Walk the 312 Chicago River Run
Join Pirate (and maybe Samba), a Siberian husky, who will lead the way on a walk on the 312 Riverrun trail along the Chicago River between Belmont and Wilson. We will meet at 3:00 pm on the front patio of “First Slice” Pie Café & Coffee Shop (4664 N Manor) in the Ravenswood neighborhood, which is near the north end of the trail.
We will walk through the Ravenswood Manor neighborhood to Horner Park; follow the Horner Park nature path; pass through California Park; walk over the newly opened Riverview Bridge (now the longest pedestrian and bike bridge in the City); wander through Clark Park where we will stop to view the Jeanne Gang designed Boat House; and continue on the trail to Belmont Ave, where this leg of the 312 Riverrun trail ends. We will walk a couple of blocks to the Metropolitan Brewing Compant patio (3057 Rockwell St) for your beverage of choice. After we are refreshed, we will retrace our steps back to First Slice. The total length of the walk is approximately 5 miles round trip (2.5 one way).
Also Bring your mask or other face covering of some sort!
Please register so that we will know to look for you.
If you want to bring your dog, please contact Jan Carson in advance to arrange for that.
