Volunteer with fellow LakeShore Ski and Sports Club members to help beautify our Chicago River and Parks.
What to expect: We’ll ride in kayaks and clean up the river nearby- Clark Park Boathouse and Chicago River Canoe and Kayak is a wonderful asset to Chicago’s recreation. CRCK will be furnishing kayaks, paddles, and life preservers.
Be prepared to get wet and/or dirty- and dress for the weather and being on the water. This is a hard but very satisfying way to spend a morning.
What to bring: Wear closed toe shoes and comfortable clothing. Heavy waterproof boots are a plus if you want to channel Julie Hick’s shore work! .Bring water and sunscreen. Rubber gloves will be provided but bringing your own rubberized garden or work gloves will make the morning easier!
This activity will go on rain or shine.
After the work: We will gather for lunch (at your own expense) at delicious Turquoise Café in Roscoe Village, with carnivore, veggie, and vegan options!
Registration (RSVP) is Required so we know who will be attending. Cancelled.
You will complete an event day waiver at the site.
NOTE: In June or July, we will kayak this same area of the river as a group, every Monday night for a month- please look for the listing later in Spring!
