Chicago River Cleanup with Lunch - Saturday, May 10, 2025
On May 10, 2025, seven Lakeshore members and 2 kiddos volunteered to work at a former historic wetland habitat at Indian Ridge Marsh on the southeast side of Chicago. Workers split into pairs or small groups and planted plugs of various native grasses and flowers along the marsh there. It was a muddy but satisfying job and much was accomplished! Hopefully in years to come this area will return to its previous wild habitat! We followed up our workday with a wonderful Mexican lunch nearby at Cocula Restaurant.
