Let’s come together to support the Pilsen community and spend intentionally in the neighborhood! Our main event is a Sunday dinner at 5:30 PM at 5 Rabanitos, a beloved and highly rated restaurant featuring regional dishes from Oaxaca, the Yucatán, Mexico City, and more.
Before dinner, we’re offering an optional afternoon immersed in Pilsen’s vibrant arts and culture:
• 2:00 PM - Private Guided Mural Walking Tour
Meet in the lobby of the National Museum of Mexican Art (1852 W 19th St). The 1.5-hour tour is led by a local expert - Monica went on the tour in September and highly recommends it!
Cost: $25 cash or pay via Zelle/Venmo. Credit cards accepted with a $5 surcharge.
If you plan to join the tour, please email: carolyoken@gmail.com.
• 4:00–5:30 PM – Explore the National Museum of Mexican Art
Enjoy the museum’s outstanding permanent collection plus at least two special exhibitions on view in January. Don’t miss the exceptional gift shop filled with handmade folk art, books, and high-quality pieces - another meaningful way to support the community.
The museum is just a 5-minute walk (or 1-minute drive) from the restaurant.
Let’s warm up this January by celebrating the rich traditions, resilience, and beauty of Mexican culture. Pilsen - like many predominantly Latino neighborhoods - has felt the economic impact of ICE enforcement. Our presence and spending can make a positive difference.
