About this event

Hike the Olympic National Park - only 1 male and 1 female spot still available!

“Olympic National Park, situated on the Olympic Peninsula in Washington State’s northwest corner, is a haven of natural beauty and variety.”  The terrain is a mix of distinct habitats – mountains, rainforests, Pacific Ocean shoreline, rivers and lakes.  Come share in this fascinating trip for hiking, kayaking, and a final trip to Victoria, BC, Canada.

Trip participants will fly into Portland from Chicago, pick up our mini-vans and begin our venture to Lake Quinault Lodge in the Park.  We will spend 3 nights at the lodge hiking in the rainforest and kayaking/canoeing on the lake. The lodge, bult in 1926, has a huge fireplace, a heated swimming pool, and various accommodations.

We then drive to the Pacific Ocean and the Kalaloch Lodge where we stay 2 nights, with stunning views and easy access to the beach. From there we will visit the park’s coastal areas and hike through the Hoh Rainforest. Then it is onward to Sol Duc Hot Springs Resort for our final 2 nights in the park.  We will hike the ridge to Hurricane Hill Trail for a view of the Olympic Mountains then to the Hall of Mosses Trail in the rainforest.

Time then for a hot springs dip.  Our park trip ends in Port Angeles to drop off our vehicles and take a ferry to Victoria on Vancouver Island.

You must have your passport to proceed!  We will stay at the Hotel Grand Pacific near the port for 2 nights.  Exploring Victoria is on your own – wherever you wish to go!  We leave at 5:45 on June 15 on a fast ferry for Seattle where we will spend one night before flying out the next day.

You will need to arrange your own air transportation for the trip.  This is a wonderful trip, so sign up right away.  The 18 slots will go quickly!

Because of unexpectedly short deadlines from our Travel Representative, we have had to cut the trip back to 18 participants. Currently, we need 1 more individual male and 1 more individual female sign up. Please Contact the Trip Leader to be sure we can accommodate you.
