Chicago Symphony Piano Recital & Spanish Dinner at Mercat a la Planxa
This program offers a refined Sunday combination of world-class music, historic Chicago venues, and a shared dinner experience. We’ll enjoy an elegant Sunday afternoon in downtown Chicago beginning with a 3:00 PM piano recital at Symphony Center, featuring internationally acclaimed pianist Evgeny Kissin performing with the Chicago Symphony Orchestra.
A piano sensation since his arrival on the international stage in the 1980s, Kissin returns with a spectacular recital spanning multiple eras of the Romantic repertoire. The program includes Beethoven’s revolutionary Piano Sonata No. 7, a selection of Chopin mazurkas, Schumann’s deeply personal Kreisleriana, and Liszt’s dazzling Hungarian Rhapsody.
Following the performance, we’ll continue the afternoon with dinner at Mercat a la Planxa, located inside the historic The Blackstone Hotel, where members can relax and share conversation over Spanish-inspired tapas and paella.
