About this event

Chicago’s Chinatown is one of the city’s most historic and vibrant cultural neighborhoods, celebrated for its rich Chinese heritage, ornate architecture, family-run shops, and bustling restaurant scene. From traditional bakeries and herbal stores to colorful street art and lively public plazas, Chinatown provides a warm and energetic setting for a Lunar New Year celebration.

Located in the heart of this iconic community, MingHin Cuisine is the perfect place to enjoy authentic Cantonese dishes, festive dim sum, and a joyful evening together as we welcome the Lunar New Year.

We’ll begin the afternoon with an optional, self-guided stroll through Chinatown. This relaxed walk offers a chance to explore the main streets, peek into local bakeries and shops, admire the zodiac sculptures, and learn more about the history of one of Chicago’s most dynamic cultural districts. Afterward, we’ll visit the Chinese American Museum of Chicago (free admission with a suggested donation), before gathering for a Lunar New Year feast at MingHin Cuisine at 5:00 PM.
