About this event
Discover small gardens here and there as we ride north mostly along the lake and then south along the river. A highlight is the Shakespeare Garden in Evanston (water stop)before crossing over to the Ladd Arboretum gardens and the North Shore Channel Trail.
Stop briefly at Libanais to pick up some baclava. And because who doesn’t love a water treatment facility, we will pass the beautiful paired buildings on Howard Ave and Lawrence Ave. before returning to the lakefront on a fully bike-laned side street.
Optionally, finish with a refreshing aqua fresca de jamaica (hibiscus water) at the Edgewater Beach Apartments’ private 2-acre garden.
About 20 miles, 10-12 mph.
Where/When: Meet at Foster Beach field house (Foster Ave at Lake Michigan), Ride starts at 9 AM
