Solstice Ride to the Chicago Botanic Gardens via the North Branch Trail
(since we cannot visit Stonehenge this year)
The North Branch Trail connects Chicago to the Chicago Botanic Garden in Glencoe. The system includes trail loops through ecological restoration sites with diverse native wildlife.
Since we’re riding on Monday (less crowded), we’ll have a leisurely start time of 10am. We’ll start at Caldwell Woods parking log just east of Milwaukee Ave on Devon. Estimated total length: 35.0 miles.
We will also pick up riders who want a shorter trip, at Skokie Lagoons about 11:15. Google Chicago River Canoe and Kayak, we’ll pick you up there. Bring a bag lunch and we will picnic at the Chicago Botanic Garden.
We will be riding recreationally, probably 10-12 MPH. If you want to go fast that’s great and you will be out in front. Striation is good, in biking as well as skiing! We will have a leader (Dina) and a sweep (Marty)
Where/When: Meet at Caldwell Woods parking Lot east of Milwaukee Ave. on Devon at 9:45AM
or Skokie Lagoons Parking Lot at 11:15 AM for a shorter ride.
