Wright in the Neighborhood 1  - Saturday, December 26, 2020

The tour is an outdoor walking tour 90 minutes in length.  I will discuss Wright’s early career centered on the 20 years he lived in this home in Oak Park and where he designed nearly a quarter of the 1,000 buildings in his 70 years as an architect, including all of the Prairie style homes which revolutionized residential architecture.  We will see how Wright’s constant experimentation led him to design in a number of styles which we will view on the walk.  The tour will include Unity Temple, Wright’s first public building and one of 8 Wright designs designated as a World Heritage Site by UNESCO.

If you are a member of the Wright Trust, tickets are $20.  Please purchase tickets on the web site and let me know you are joining us by registering here on the LSSC website.
