Plan to join us this summer
for Lakeshore's first ever trip to Isle Royale
What is it? America's most remote and
perhaps least visited National Park. An island
archipelago of 400 islands in northwestern Lake
Superior. It's a challenge to get here, but people
get smitten and keep coming back. Join us to find
out why.
When is the trip? July 29th to August 2,
2014 (but plan to drive up on 7/28 and drive home on 8/3)
What's to do? This is a hiking and paddle
trip. There's also fishing. The park has no roads
anywhere--not even bike trails.
Can I get more details? Certainly! See our
detailed itinerary or contact the event Leader, Ken, and he will be more than happy to tell you all about it!
How will the trip work? This is a
self-drive trip. You get yourself to Copper Harbor,
Michigan in the UP. We take over from there. Use
the trip as the centerpiece of a full week exploring
Wisconsin and Michigan.
What's included? Four nights lodging at
the Rock Harbor Lodge, including all meals and
gratuities. Round trip ferry from Copper Harbor to
Isle Royale. A group cruise to Rock Harbor
Lighthouse, and a wine and cheese party. Each lodge
room [not person] comes with a half-day free use of
a canoe. Additional services are available for
additional cost, including lodging in Copper Harbor
the night before the ferry, and water taxi fares to
the start of several proposed day hikes.
