Join us in the Mississippi River cities known collectively as the Quad Cities, 160 miles from Chicago, for a weekend of scenic biking and spectacular fun. Nestled within the bluffs of two rivers the Quad Cities has an Arts and Entertainment District that is an eight-block entertainment area with art galleries, restaurants, pubs and three riverboat casinos.
The paved Great River Trail extends 62 miles along the Mississippi River through eleven small river towns. It includes spectacular views of the river, Native American burial mounds, Great Blue Heron rookeries, eagle’s roosts and massive locks and dams. The trail also features 65 public areas that include visitor centers, historical museums and markers, picturesque parks, antique stores and restaurants.
Other biking options are on historic and scenic Arsenal Island and the Duck Creek Trail that winds its way 14 scenic miles through city parks.
Lodging will be at the Stoney Creek Inn, located on the picturesque riverfront in Moline, IL, and is a new Northwoods themed full service hotel with a lounge, an indoor/outdoor pool, whirlpool spa and sauna. The hotel is located next to the bike trails.
The trip includes two nights lodging (two to a room), expanded continental breakfast, Friday night welcoming party, after biking pool party and a Saturday night group dinner buffet with open bar.
There are reservations for seventy participants, but the bike trips have been filling very quickly. Get your applications in early to guarantee your spot for a fun, scenic and adventuresome weekend.
