This spring's bike trip will be in Fond du Lac, Wisconsin, Friday June 26 through Sunday, June 28.
Our lodgings will be in the Ramada Plaza Hotel, which is housed in a building on the National Register of Historic Places. Its lobby is two stories high with a gorgeous crystal chandelier. The hotel is providing gourmet pizza for our welcome party on Friday evening. A full breakfast is included for Saturday and Sunday supplying lots of energy for biking.
We will bike the 25-mile Eisenbahn Trail which starts at Eden and winds through the glacial landscape of the Kettle Moraine State Forest. It ends in the historic city of West Bend.
After biking, we can soothe our muscles in the Jacuzzi, whirlpool, or indoor swimming pool. A full course dinner on Saturday will be held at a nearby restaurant. If anyone has any energy left, there is the Fusion Martini bar, endorsed by Chris Vogt and Jim Hemminger as "the best martini bar in Wisconsin".
Activities on Sunday are your choice. For the energetic cyclists, there is the Wild Goose National Park Trail. Fond du Lac has a 400-acre lakefront park, which features lagoons, gardens, covered bridges and a lookout lighthouse. One can also explore the 125-year old Octagon House which has hidden passages and rooms and was featured on the History channel. There are two golf courses for our golf enthusiasts.
There is so much to do in this area that you may want to make your own arrangements to spend time before or after the trip. This will be at your own expense, but the Ramada has agreed to honor our group rate for your extension.
Included in this trip are two nights lodging -double occupancy, Friday night welcome party and Saturday night dinner. Bob "The King of Fun" Marwin will lead the trip.
