Buenos Aires is the capital of the Republic of Argentina and the country's largest city. Located in front of the Río de La Plata, it is a modern, dynamic and radiant city that features the European architecture of its founders and absorbs the passion of its people, the "Porteños" (people of the port). Considered "The Pearl" of South America, Buenos Aires has an intense cultural life where tango, long coffee klatches and football (soccer) are essential elements in its people daily lives. Average weather during Aug: 48-68 F.

San Carlos de Bariloche, located in the heart of Argentina's Patagonia, is the gateway to the ski area "Gran Catedral". The ski mountain is a short 8 miles away from Bariloche. The resort offers frequent service to and from town. No other Argentinean ski town can match Bariloche in nightlife, dining, cinemas, theater, or its eight discos and a casino.

The first of four chairlifts moves skiers up from the base at 3200 feet to the Plateau at 4000 feet. When you ski Bariloche, you will discover that the more challenging skiing lies above, below the summit known as the Piedra del Condor, or Stone of the Condor. Here there are wide-open snow fields and long gullies, all above the timberline, where the snow is the best. Bariloche offers skiable terrain for all levels of ability.

The other chairlifts serve the upper area, up to the summit known as "Piedra del Condor" or Stone of the Condor. Here are more challenging runs, wide-open snow fields, long gullies, all above timberline where the snow is the best. Don't worry, Bariloche offers ski terrain for all levels of ability.

Land Package includes: three nights stay at the Hotel Dazzler in downtown Buenos Aires, all transfers from airports to hotels and domestic airports, domestic flights to/from Bariloche, seven nights stay at Edelweiss Hotel (two-to-a-room) in downtown San Carlo de Bariloche with American breakfast included, six day lift tickets, free shuttle service to/from ski area, wine & cheese party in Bariloche, and welcome party in Buenos Aires.

AIR OPTIONS: If you have air miles on Delta, American or United, you can try to book your own flights to coordinate with the Delta flights (please inform Trip Leader). However, I just found out that American is currently charging 100,000 miles to depart BA on Saturday 9/5. Their 40,000 flight departs Monday, 9/7, so you would have to stay an extra 2 nights in Buenos Aires, which is what Trip Leader is currently planning. However, if American changes this policy in months to come, you can change your date at no charge. Not sure what Delta/ United mile requirements are.
